What do you do in your home country and what do you hope to do upon your return? In particular, with the integration of your experiences here?

I am a medical doctor and currently a medical attending at my hospital. I am involved in clinical duties at the district hospital.

What I hope as part of this fellowship to achieve is building a network relevant to my work with all of the people that I am meeting here, both from Africa and across the globe. Upon return, I hope to scale up with my community outreach programs and set up mother and baby needs as part of the maternity expansion going on in my hospital.

What is your favorite thing about your home country? How about Philadelphia?

I think that with my country the level of democracy and inclusion, for a country which is still currently in the infancy stage of democracy, is good. I am happy that, as a country, we work to uphold the principles of inclusive government and democracy.

Within the healthcare area, something that I work within, we hope to achieve healthcare for all and something that the Ministry of Health is working towards and I think health for all is good. It is something that really amazes and interests me.

In Philadelphia, I must say that people are very welcoming, everyone very much wants to help you achieve your dreams and your hopes and aspirations and is very openminded, inclusive, and diverse. They give you a listening ear and want to help you and collaborate with you to achieve your goals.

Do you have any hobbies or an interesting fact you wish to share about yourself?

I love traveling around the world. The kind of friends that I am meeting here will also probably open up opportunities for me to travel more around the continent as well and have friends other sub-saharan African. This is an opportunity to travel and learn other cultures to take new knowledge back to my own country .

If I were to come to your home country, what is the first thing I should eat?

Fufu is my favorite meal. This is food that is made from the cassava, and the plantain, you usually enjoy it with some light soup with goat meat.
